Steps for Automotive Sheet Metal Painting

Automotive sheet metal painting usually consists of two steps: intermediate primer and topcoat.

Intermediate primer: an important coating part, preparing a complete and smooth working surface for the topcoat, completing the subsequent process of all primer work, increasing the adhesion of the intervention layer, and having a certain isolation effect to ensure the quality stability of the topcoat.

Topcoat is divided into single-layer paint and multi-layer paint, which are the color determining layer and decorative protective layer. Single layer paint is commonly referred to as plain paint, also known as ordinary paint, and can be completed in one layer.

Multi layer paint is divided into silver powder series paint and pearl powder series paint, which are coatings completed through double layer and multi-layer construction processes. Silver powder paint is made of specially made aluminum materials, which have high protection, outdoor stability, and strong observability. The Pearl series paint is made from materials such as mica sheets and shells through high-tech extraction, and is a colorful and highly decorative coating.
